A feel-good album for the pandemic

The “Loving You” album is meant to uplift listeners during these times.

The 11-track album compiles original music from almost a dozen promising singers, lyricists, composers and singer-songwriters.

Released by KDR Music House, the common theme on the “Loving You” album is positivity. The songs here are meant to inspire and uplift listeners.

Beginning with Princess Sevillena, the first Wishcovery grand champion who sings on catchy and melodic “If I Could.” Princess also sings on the ballad “Patawad Na.” The latter song’s theme is about  forgiveness within a relationship. Grand champ of Wishcovery Season 2, Rhea Basco exhibits versatility and range on “Sana Ako Na Lang.” Forlorn and a-wanting, Basco sings of what could have been. Another Wishcovery alumni is Ace Bartolome who sings on the uplifting pop-rock number “Silungan.” One of the best sounding upbeat tracks on the collection.

Other music acts on “Loving You” includes Elisha Pontanares with her ode to her father “Proud To Say,” pop-soul singer Gherns Calina on drama-filled ballad “Kaya,” powerhouse vocalist Jheorge Normandia on “Pinili Nyang Mahalin Ka,” and songstress Anne Culala on the catchy, pop-funk inflected “Di Mahal.”

Additional highlights on the “Loving You” album are the all-sibling indie-rock band Splendio Tritus with their exceptional original “But We Never.” Then there’s edgy vocalist Kimberly Baluzo who sings on pop-rockin’ “Panandalian.”

KDR Music House is about “creating great music” and “welcoming artists of all musical backgrounds with a burning passion for making life-changing music,” said album musical director Adonis Tabanda. He adds that KDR “will cater to all styles and genres. But we will make sure that the message of each song will give hope and inspiration to all listeners.”
