CEBU CITY — The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) here is already considering the easing of travel restrictions for vaccinated individuals.
City Councilor Joel Garganera, chief of EOC, said they will consult with health experts if it is already possible to only require vaccination cards for fully vaccinated individuals arriving in the city.
Currently, all passengers arriving in the city are required to present negative result of RT-PCR or anti-gen tests.
“That is one of the measures we are studying as a way to incentivize fully vaccinated persons,” Garganera said.
Garganera said such measure may further encourage more people to be vaccinated.
The EOC is also pushing for the acceptance of passengers who will use results of saliva tests when entering the city.
“We will be accepting saliva test results. We will accept anything that is reliable and not expensive. Some are discouraged to travel because of the requirements that are expensive,” said Garganera.
Garganera likewise revealed that hospitals in the city especially the public facilities are already in safety zone.
“It means that our COVID-19 cases are decreasing,” said Garganera.
