Over 30,000 vaccinated senior citizens in Makati receive gift certificates

The Makati City local government unit (LGU) announced on Tuesday that over 30,000 fully vaccinated senior citizens of the city have already received their gift certificates worth P1,000 as an incentive.

In a Facebook post, the LGU said that as of Sept. 21, a total of 35,088 fully vaccinated senior citizens of the city have each received their gift certificates courtesy of Makati City Mayor Abby Binay and the city government.

The LGU explained that the incentive is part of the city's bid to convince its citizens to get vaccinated and increase the number of people being protected against COVID-19, especially amid the growing threat of its Delta variant.

It added that fully vaccinated senior citizens must bring their vaccination cards and their white card or Blu card.

After presenting their cards proving that they are fully vaccinated and are residents of Makati, personnel of the city hall will then give them their P1,000 GC.

Should a senior citizen cannot claim his/her GC, he/she may send a representative bringing his/her original identification card, its photocopy, and an authorization letter.

The LGU started the distribution of gift certificates on July 1.
