DITO hits 3 million subscribers


DITO Telecommunity, the country’s newest telco player, this morning (Sept. 21) announced it has hit the three million subscriber mark.

On the average, the telco is hauling in new subscribers at the rate of 20,000 daily but has accelerated to over 33,000 per day in the last 12 days, bringing in 400,000.

By yearend, DITO targets to have a total of five to six million subscribers.

DITO also announced it has opened 14 additional service areas last week and will open five more next week, on September 24.

As of September 17, 2021, DITO has become available in Norzagaray, Bulacan; Lupao, Nueva Ecija; Dupax Del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya; Nagcarlan, Laguna; Lemery, Batangas; Maragondon, Cavite; Lucban, Quezon, as well as in seven areas in Pangasinan - Laoac, Dasol, Aguilar, Bautista, Binalonan, San Jacinto and Tayug.

In September 24, 2021, DITO's services will be available in Balagtas, Bulacan; Bacolor, Pampanga; Sibulan, Negros Oriental; Santa Barbara and Malasiqui, Pangasinan.

As of last month, DITO is in 233 cities and municipalities nationwide and it will add 53 more service areas this September, ending the month with 286.

To address customer complaints of slow connection in Metro Manila, DITO is doubling the number of its cell sites in the metropolis befote year-end for more capacity and stable service.
