Meralco and Alaska will play back-to-back games to wrap up the elimination round of the PBA Philippine Cup at the Don Honorio Ventura State University in Bacolor, Pampanga.

The Bolts take on the NLEX Road Warriors at 2 p.m. while the Aces play the San Miguel Beermen at 4:35 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 22.

Both teams return to action the following day on Sept. 23 for the last playdate of the elims with Meralco facing defending champion Barangay Ginebra San Miguel at 2 p.m. before Alaska takes on NorthPort at 4:35 p.m.

All four games will play significant roles in the composition of the eight-team quarterfinals which starts after the elims.

Meralco (7-2) needs to win at least one in its last two games to secure the No. 2 spot in the twice-to-beat advantage while Alaska (3-6) must sweep its remaining matches in order to stay in the hunt for a quarters slot.

Ginebra (4-6) is in a must-win situation as a loss could mean an early exit for the winner of last year’s Philippine Cup bubble while NorthPort and NLEX, with identical 5-5 slates, eye a victory to cement their place in the quarters.

San Miguel (6-4) is only playing for seeding purposes since it is assured of a place in a best-of-three series for teams that placed third to sixth.
