President Duterte has allowed the conduct of pilot face-to-face classes in at least 100 public schools in low-risk areas within two months. This was promptly welcomed by the Department of Education (DepEd), which also said that 20 private schools could be added to the pilot list following an evaluation by the agency and the Department of Health (DOH).

Meanwhile, the surge in coronavirus disease (COVID-19) may be on the decline in Metro Manila, but the OCTA Research Group nevertheless noted that this was still on a high level.

In the political front, opposition group 1Sambayan said it was nearing a final decision on who it will endorse as standard bearer in the 2022 national elections. And foremost in their minds are Vice President Leni Robredo and Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso.
