All is good: Robredo holds no grudge against Duterte; daughters against VP's possible presidential bid

Despite the exchange of tirades between the two camps, Vice President Leni Robredo is not holding any grudge against President Duterte, saying everything hurled against her will only make her stronger.

Robredo made the statement in an interview with veteran broadcaster Karen Davila for the latter's YouTube channel.

According to Robredo, she is not angry at Duterte for anything.

"Wala. Kasi sa akin all the difficulties, yun ang nagbi-build ng character (I'm not holding any grudges because for me, all the difficulties will build up my character)," she said.

According to the Vice President, she just wants to be remembered as an official who will not stop doing her work despite many limitations.

"I take my role very very seriously," Robredo said.

"Despite the limitations sa aming mandato (to our mandate) and limitations sa (in terms of) resources, we did not allow those limitations to get in the way of the work that we do," she added.

Vice President Robredo is set to step down from her position next year following the expiration of a six-year term. She has expressed openness to run for president but said she has not reached a decision yet.

But if her daughters Aika, Tricia, and Jillian will be asked, it is time for Robredo to retire from national politics.

"Ayaw nila. Ayaw talaga (They don't want me to run. They really do not)," Vice President Robredo told Davila.

"Ang pakiramdam nila hindi ko deserve yung treatment sa akin in the last five years. So sila yung mga wish nila sa akin magpahinga na (They feel I don't deserve the treatment I've been getting over the past five years. So they wish that I would retire after this)," she added.

Despite this, Robredo said she is sure that God has plans for her.

"Parati sa akin klaro na yung Diyos naman meron na siyang plano para sa ating lahat (For me, it's clear that God always has a plan for all of us)," she said.

"Dapat nasa state of grace lang tayo lagi para bukas tayo 'di ba (We should always be in a state of grace so we will be open to what will happen, right)?" she added.
