Top Bukidnon drug suspect arrested via PDEA's Facebook complaint system


A drug suspect in the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) watchlist was arrested on Friday, Sept. 17 in Bukidnon through its “Isumbong mo kay Wilkins (Report it to Wilkins)’’ Facebook page.

Devised by PDEA Director General Wilkins Villanueva, “Isumbong mo kay Wilkins’’ is an online platform wherein the public is encouraged to report any drug activities in their localities.

The suspect, Nemesio Abalde was collared where P40,800 worth of ‘shabu’ was confiscated by the combined PDEA and Philippine National Police (PNP) operatives during the buy-bust operation in Barangay North 9-B in Maramag.

Listed as a priority person of interest in Bukidnon, Abalde is facing charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

This anti-drug operation was carried out by the PDEA Region 10 (RO-10) Bukidnon Provincial Office and Maramag Police Station.

In previous statements, Villanueva exhorted the public to report suspicious looking individuals claiming to be PDEA agents and known drug personalities through the “Isumbong Mo Kay Wilkins” or at hotline numbers 099-5354-7020 or 093-1027-8212. (Chito A. Chavez)
