Bulacan logs 22 deaths in one day

The Provincial Health Office in Bulacan (PHO) on Thursday recorded 22 deaths in a single day, bringing the total number of COVID-19-related fatalities in the province to 1,247.

The PHO also recorded 363 new cases that brought the total number of COVID-19 cases in the province to 66,719. Of this number, 62,357 or 93 percent have recovered.

The active cases are 3,115, wherein the 775 are admitted in hospitals, 313 in Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facilities, while 2,027 are in home isolation. The highest reported active cases are still from the City of San Jose Del Monte, Sta. Maria, and the City of Meycauayan.

Governor Daniel R. Fernando said the PHO has administered a total of 1,151, 274 doses of COVID-19 vaccines from March 8 to September 9, 2021.

He said 672,472 Bulakenyos received their first dose, and those who received the second dose or were fully vaccinated including the single-dose Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine were 478,802.

Fernando reminded Bulakenyos to stay safe by strictly following the minimum public health standards — wear a face mask and face shield when outside the home, maintain social distance, and avoid crowds. (Freddie C. Velez)
