Sulong Pasay, composed of business leaders working closely with the Pasay City local government, will soon launch “Sulong Pasay TV news” which aims to provide information on the city’s economy that has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The SPTV news, which will also be the guide to the city’s recovery from the crisis. did a test broadcast on Sunday, September 12. It will officially be launched on the second or third week of October.
Dianne Azares, head of Sulong Pasay’s secretariat, said the group is composed of officials from the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP), Philippine Exporters Confederation (PhilExport), and Philippine Hotel Owners Association (PHOAI).
Among the convenors of Sulong Pasay are PCCI chair Alegria Limjoco, PCCI President and former Ambassador Benedicto Yujuico, PCCI Director Injap Sia, PCCI Director former Tourism Secretary Mina Gabor, ECOP President Serge Ortiz-Luis Jr., PhilExport Chair George Barcelon, PHOAI President Arthur Lopez, and Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) Chair and former Finance Secretary Jose Pardo.
Azares said “Sulong Pasay” was formed to work with the Pasay City local government unit as well as other sectors in society to come up with solutions that will help revive economic growth with health protocols in minds.
She said the SPTV news project was conceptualized as an integral part of the formation of the Sulong Pasay civic group and is designed to be one major platform of the group’s advocacy, information dissemination, and communication.
