DepEd said that President Duterte is scheduled to give his message to learners and teachers to mark the opening of a new school year.

Education Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones, on the other hand, is set to officially open SY 2021-2022 during the program.

The theme for SY 2021-2022 school opening, according to DepEd, is “OBE 2021: Bayanihan para sa Ligtas na Balik Eskwela.” “This school year, we would like to honor everyone who made learning continuity possible amidst the challenges of the pandemic,” Briones said.

In the program, DepEd Central Office Directors will provide live on-ground updates on the preparations of schools and field offices for the school opening.

“Our efforts throughout the year showed our deep understanding that education is our shared responsibility,” Briones added.

Without face-to-face classes, DepEd is once again implementing a blended/distance learning set-up this school year due to the ongoing coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

Students will learn their lessons using multiple learning delivery modalities such as modular (printed and offline); online learning; television and radio-based instruction; and/or a combination of two or more modalities under “blended learning.”
