Cops celebrate 124th birthday of ‘oldest living Negrense’

BACOLOD CITY – Personnel of Kabankalan City Police Station in Negros Occidental visited Francisca Susano as she celebrated her 124th birthday Saturday, Sept. 11.

Susano is the oldest living Negrense and believed to be the oldest living Filipino.

Police Lt. Dennis Melgarejo, deputy police chief of Kabankalan City Police Station, together with the 604th Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) – 6 went to Susano’s house at Barangay Oringao and surprised her with a cake.

Susano was born in 1897, before the Philippine Independence Day and had witnessed two world wars.

She got married at 14 and bore 14 children. In fact, one of her children is already a centenarian at the age of 101.

The police salutes her strong character for surviving the test of time.

The city government also greeted Susano on her special day.
