Nine inmates at the San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm (SRPPF) in Zamboanga City are set for release, the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) said.
In a statement, BuCor said that the nine persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) have undergone psychological re-assessment last Sept. 7 and 10.
“Psychological Re-assessment is a part of the pre-release program, wherein an External Affairs Section (EAS) Program Officer use standard tools and interview PDLs for re-assessment and determine the readiness of PDLs to reintegrate in the mainstream society,” it explained.
“With the continuous support of Director General Gerald Q. Bantag and through the guidance of C/Supt. Jhaeron L. Lacaben, acting superintendent of the SRPPF, the Reintegration Program was conducted successfully,” it added.
Early this September, BuCor had released several PDLs from its prison facilities.
Released were six inmates from the Correctional institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City and five PDLs of the Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DPPF).
The six CIW inmates had been acquitted of their criminal charges. Of those released from DPPF, three had qualified under the good conduct time allowance (GCTA), one had been granted parole, and the other had been acquitted by the court.
