NorthPort’s Greg Slaughter is facing a fine of P20,000 for his hard foul on Terrafirma’s Roosevelt Adams in their PBA Philippine Cup match held Saturday, Sept. 11 at the Don Honorio Ventura State University in Bacolor, Pampanga.
Slaughter was tossed after being given a Flagrant Foul 2 for his apparent clothesline on Adams with 8:19 left in the second quarter and the Batang Pier holding a 30-23 lead.
Unless the league’s technical committee changes it mind and downgrades the infraction, Slaughter will be asked to pay the said amount under PBA rules on Flagrant 2 calls.
PBA commissioner Willie Marcial was also quick to rule out any possible suspension on Slaughter.
The 7-foot center was apologetic following the foul as he left the venue, even gesturing to Terrafirma coach Johnedel Cardel that he meant no harm on Adams.
He had two points and three rebounds in almost 10 minutes before the ejection.
NorthPort went on to beat Terrafirma, 104-84, in the first of back-to-back games this weekend.
The Batang Pier return to action Sunday, Sept. 12 against the NLEX Road Warriors.
