58 passengers stranded in Claveria port

CAGAYAN – Several passengers who were supposed to travel to Calayan and Fuga island were stranded at the Claveria Port as typhoon Kiko’s wrath led to the cancellation of the trip.

“Akala namin makakaalis kami, pero hindi na rin pala at kami nga ay natipon sa port dulot na rin ng masamang panahon dito sa Cagayan (All along we thought we would be able to leave, but that was not the case that’s why we’re here stranded at the port due to the bad weather here in Cagayan), “ a passenger said.

Provincial Administrator Darwin Sacramed told local reporters that relief goods are now being prepared to be distributed to those stranded in the town of Claveria.

Meanwhile, 48 families, including 124 individuals from five towns in Cagayan province, were evacuated due to the threat of the typhoon.

The liquor ban has also been implemented in the Island of Calayan.

Residents of the Island, particularly in Camiguin and Babuyan Claro, have been notified as these are the areas that will be hit by the typhoon based on the report of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
