BIÑAN CITY, Laguna – The local government unit conducted clearing operations on Thursday (September 9) to clean out the sludge left by flash floods brought by Typhoon Jolina.

The Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, Bureau of Fire Protection-Biñan and Langkiwa Emergency Response Unit led the clearing operation in the city’s main plaza and market areas.

On Sept. 8, Typhoon Jolina brought heavy rains in the city, resulting in flash floods in several barangays, including Barangays Dela Paz and Malaban, where residents endured chest-deep waters.

Residents affected by floods were taken to evacuation centers where they were given hot meals.
