'The Matrix Resurrections' website teases film images ahead of first official trailer

The Matrix website is upping their game in promoting the upcoming installment of The Matrix saga.

The updated whatisthematrix.com takes a first deep, albeit fleeting look into the upcoming movie “The Matrix Resurrections.”

The interactive website, offers a glimpse into the Lana Wachowski-directed new film that stars Keanu Reeves and Carrie Anne Moss. The actors will reprise their roles as Neo and Trinity.

On the website, one can choose between the red pill and the blue pill which will take viewers into two different looks into the new Matrix movie. This is of course a reference to the 1999 movie wherein Morpheus invites Thomas Andersen a.k.a. Neo, to see “how far the rabbit hole goes.”

The website offers quick glimpses of scenes from the upcoming movie. Scenes that echo the original include Trinity running up a wall, Neo getting beat up by an Agent in a dilapidated washroom, the liquid mirrors, and the slow-motion bullets.

It also sees the new actors who will join Reeves and Moss. Jessica Yu Li Henwick (from Marvel’s Iron Fist, Defenders), Jonathan Groff and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II are seen in their respective roles.

Abdul-Mateen in particular is said to be in the role of a reincarnated Morpheus which was originally played by actor Laurence Fishburne.

As for Neo and Trinity, we will have to wait for the reveal when the first full official trailer of “The Matrix Ressurections”  is released on September 9, Thursday.
