2 suspects in slay of Gwenn Salamida arrested in QC

Two suspects in the killing of former tabloid editor Gwenn Salamida were arrested by operatives of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) in Barangay Commonwealth last Friday, Sept. 3.

According to DZBB report, the suspects were identified as Nilo Payag Anub and Richard Alaba.

Based on the report of La Loma Police Station, the suspects were nabbed at around 7 p.m. on Sto. Niño St. in Brgy. Commonwealth.

The report said the QCPD Station 1 immediately launched a follow-up operation after reviewing all the CCTV footages in the area where the crime happened.

A CCTV footage showed that one of the suspects was picked up by a Toyota Corolla in front of the Floor Center on Munoz Road. The same vehicle was again seen in another CCTV footage at a bakeshop on Don Fabian St., also in Brgy. Commonwealth.

During the follow-up operation, authorities spotted the vehicle traveling along Sto. Niño St. in the same barangay.

Recovered from Anub and Alaba were a .38-caliber gun, a grenade, two N203 grenades, and a silver Toyota Corolla vehicle.

Salamida was shot dead inside the beauty parlor she owned in Quezon City on August 17.
