MB Daily News Update

High hopes are pinned on the granular lockdowns –  that these could provide the needed shield against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) while also paving the way for the rebound of the economy. And no less than Presidential Adviser on Entrepreneurship Joey Concepcion thinks it’s the latest form of restriction that makes sense in the country’s current state.

Malacanang is also set to announce the parameters that will govern the implementation of granular lockdowns, as well as the general community quarantine (GCQ), which will both be observed starting September 8.

Meanwhile, “Jolina” has rapidly intensified into a severe tropical storm, and made landfall in Eastern Samar.

The public is also awaiting the recommendations that would be made in connection with the deadly misencounter between the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) at a busy parking lot in Quezon City earlier this year.

These are among the top stories this Tuesday morning, September 7, 2021.

Without the mandatory plastic barriers between passengers, the operator of this jeepney playing the Taft Avenue route in Manila is putting the health of passengers at risk as the Delta variant of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is known to be more transmissible. (Manny Llanes)
