Pacquiao issued this statement after Robredo was quoted as saying that she is open to supporting a "Moreno-Pacquiao" tandem if it would be enough to end President Duterte’s kind of governance.

Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso also has presidential ambitions like Pacquiao.

Pacquiao, however, has yet to confirm whether or not to run for the country's highest elective post next year.

As I have previously said, I will soon be making an decision on whether I would seek the presidency, run for a reelection or retire from politics)," he said in a statement.

And if I decide to run, I hope you will support me as I wish for a peaceful and progressive Philippines),’’ he stressed.

I want to see the thieves in this government go to jail because they are the ones causing misery among our countrymen)."

‘’Maraming-maraming salamat po ulit sa inyong pagtitiwala (Thank you so much for your trust in me),’’ he told Robredo.
