Barangay in Pasig distributes COVID-19 care kits to infected residents

A barangay in Pasig City started distributing free COVID-19 care kits to its residents with mild cases of COVID-19 on Friday in its bid to boost their recovery and to stop the deterioration of their health while they are under quarantine and recovering at their homes.

Barangay San Antonio chairman Raymond Lising said the COVID-19 care kit contains an oximeter, batteries, ascorbic acid tablets, paracetamol tablets, digital thermometer, face masks, garbage bags, and a bottle of alcohol.

“We are delivering BSA COVID-19 Care Kits to our barangay residents who have tested positive for the disease. They receive it right at their doorsteps. This is to make sure that our kabarangays afflicted with COVID-19 are able to monitor their conditions while doing home isolation.” Lising said.

Lising said that they have already distributed at least 100 COVID-19 Care Kits.

“We are closely monitoring the cases of COVID-19 in our barangay. Once we learn a resident is conducting home isolation, we immediately send him/her a BSA COVID-19 Care Kit,” he added.

Another program the barangay launched to help its residents amid the pandemic is the "BSA Online Doctor Consultation" telemedicine project on August 30.

Lising said this program helps decongest hospitals and health centers and eliminate face-to-face interaction between patients and doctors to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Barangay San Antonio is the first barangay in Pasig to provide free online medical consultation to its residents.

The barangay chairman added that residents may avail of the free medical service by clicking: http://bit.ly/BSAONLINECONSULTATION or they may also scan the QR code on the barangay’s Facebook page.
