Pasig City Hall offices locked down due to COVID-19 cases


Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto announced on Wednesday night that some offices at the city hall have been put under lockdown after several staff members contracted COVID-19.

"We have locked down several offices at city hall, including the City Administrator's Office due to several staff members testing positive for COVID," Sotto said in a Facebook post.

"Hinihingi ko po ang inyong pangunawa. Hindi pa normal ang trabaho sa city hall..tapos ngayon napilayan na naman tayo (I am asking for your understanding. The work at city hall is not normal, and now the situation became worse)," he added.

The young mayor assured the residents that despite the lockdown, the city government will continue to serve them to the fullest.

As of August 31, Pasig City recorded 2,030 active COVID-19 cases, 40,176 recoveries, and 1,110 deaths.
