The World Health Organization (WHO) is looking into the Philippines’ face shield policy, and the extent of protection the additional facial protection provides against coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infection. The global agency also said it was not in favor of the so-called vaccine bubbles being proposed by the private sector as these could only provide a false sense of protection to the people.

The verbal tussle between President Duterte and Senate leaders continued with the former alleging that the Senate probe on alleged irregularities in Department of Health (DOH) purchases at the height of the pandemic “reeked of malice”, and Senator Richard Gordon saying that the paper trail on the alleged overpriced personal protective equipment (PPEs) could reach Malacanang.
