Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), has ordered a thorough investigation on the death of a police anti-narcotics operative of the Bacolod City who was gunned over the weekend.

Eleazar said he wants to know the motive and all the circumstances that led to the killing of Police Staff Sergeant Joseph Nepomoceno who was riddled with bullets riding a motorcycle on Sunday, Aug. 29.

“I express my deepest sympathy to the family of Police Staff Sgt. Nepomuceno and we will do our best to bring justice for him,” said Eleazar.

Nepomuceno suffered multiple bulletwounds that led to his death. It is not immediately clear why he was targeted in an ambush.

Eleazar also urged witnesses and persons who may have information to come forward and help authorities bring the perpetrators to justice.
