Caloocan Muslim residents get Sinopharm vaccine vs COVID-19


The city government of Caloocan started on Tuesday, August 31, the inoculation of its Muslim residents with Sinopharm-made COVID-19 vaccine

Caloocan City Mayor Oscar "Oca" Malapitan said that the Sinopharm vaccine is considered halal or permissible to be consumed by Muslims.

Malapitan said that the city's Muslim residents were inoculated at the Caloocan Central Elementary School (south) and Glorietta Tala (north).

The mayor then urged his constituents to get vaccinated against COVID-19, especially its more transmissible Delta variant, and reminded them to bring their valid ID and other requirements based on their priority group.

As of August 28, Caloocan City has deployed 1,187,891 vaccine doses wherein 769,237 residents have received their first dose, and 418,654 have been fully vaccinated.
