2 women yield P1.7-M shabu in Las Piñas sting

Two women were arrested after they yielded P1.7 million worth of shabu during a police buy-bust operation in Las Piñas City on Friday afternoon.

Las Piñas City police chief, Col Rodel Pastor, identified the arrested suspects as Kimberly Cruz Teves, 19, and Christine Joy Magdatu,18, both residents of Barangay Manuyo, Las Piñas City. They are now under the custody of the Philippine National Police-Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG).

Pastor said the suspects were arrested by operatives of PDEG and Las Piñas City Police at about 1:15 p.m. on Manuyo Tramo St. in Barangay Manuyo.

He said members of PDEG coordinated with the city police for an entrapment operation against the suspects who were both listed in the police drug watch list.

Confiscated from the suspects were two brown envelopes containing about 250 grams of shabu worth P1.7 million kept in a box and a paper bag, according to Pastor.

Southern Police District (SPD) director Brig. Gen Jimili Macaraeg lauded the Las Piñas City Police for the arrest of the suspects.
