Zambo cops, PDEA nab 2, including HVT drug suspect


ZAMBOANGA CITY – Joint police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents arrested two suspects, including a high-value target (HVT), in separate operations in Zamboanga Sibugay province and this city, a top police official said Thursday.

Brig. Gen. Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan, Police Regional Office 9 (Zamboanga Peninsula) director, identified the HVT suspect as Rendon Ryan Amarille, 34, who is one of the top 10 priority targets in the anti-drug campaign in Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Ylagan said Amarille was arrested in Purok 3, Barangay Tigbangagan, Kabasalan town at about 7:40 p.m. on August 25.

Seized from Amarille were P3,400 worth of suspected shabu and P500 marked money.

The other suspect, Joselito Monsale, 32, was arrested in Palmeras Drive, Barangay Cabatangan, this city at about 12 a.m. on Thursday.

Monsale yielded P25,840 worth of suspected shabu and P200 marked money.

Charges of violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being readied against the arrested suspects.
