Bulacan logs 636 new COVID-19 cases


The province of Bulacan recorded on Thursday 636 more cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections to 55,383.

According to the Provincial Health Office (PHO), 50,283 or 91% of the total number of COVID-19 cases in the province have already recovered, 617 are admitted in the hospitals, 138 are in the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facilities (TTMF), while 3,218 or 81% are on home isolation.

Four additional cases were added to the total number of COVID-19 mortality, bringing the death toll to 1,127.

The provincial government is targeting to vaccinate 2.7 million people in the province to achieve herd immunity against COVID-19.

The PHO reported that from March 8 to Aug. 23, the medical teams administered 876,992 doses of vaccines to A1 to A5 priority groups.

A total of 477,328 individuals got the first dose while 399,644 have been fully vaccinated, including those who received the single-dose J&J Janssen vaccine.

Governor Daniel R. Fernando, through his official Facebook page, once again reminded the Bulakenyos to follow the minimum public health standards – wearing of face masks and face shields, washing of hands, and practicing physical distancing -- at all times even after being vaccinated.
