To be exact, an additional 112 offices have been created since the expansion mission started in 2016. These include 23 LTO district Offices (DOs), 42 new extension offices (EOs), and 47 new driver’s license renewal offices (DLROs).

According to LTO Chief Edgar Galvante, the established offices were around five times more from what the agency accomplished from 2012 to 2016 when it created only 20 DOs, EOs, and DLROs.

This development, he said, will help address the public’s driver’s license applications, vehicle registrations, and other land transport-related needs.

He also added that the DLROs are open on Saturdays to attend to those who cannot make it on weekdays.

Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade said that the expansion will allow motorists and vehicle owners to save time and expenses when transacting with the LTO office nearest them.

“Ang pagtatayo natin ng mga LTO district offices, extension offices and driver’s license renewal offices ay upang ilapit sa mga Pilipino ang serbisyo. Gusto natin na ang serbisyo publiko, accessible sa lahat. Hindi ang mga tao ang magpapakahirap lumapit para makakuha ng serbisyo sa LTO, kung hindi ang LTO ang lalapit sa mga tao (The establishment of these offices is to bring the service closer to the people. We want a public service that is accessible for all and is not a burden to people),” Tugade said.

LTO District Offices are created by laws passed by Congress which are funded by the national budget for their manpower and operations, while LTO extension offices operate under the district offices to further widen their reach.

The DLROs, on the other hand, are placed in high-traffic locations such as malls and commercial centers to help the public in the renewal of their driver's licenses. The complete list of the LTO offices, its addresses and contact information, can be accessed at www.lto.gov.ph and on the LTO's official Facebook page.
