Following explosive reactions from fans, YG Entertainment announced the date for K-pop girl group BLACKPINK member Lisa’s solo debut.

The agency posted on Aug. 25 that Lisa’s first single album is titled “Lalisa” and it will be released at 1 p.m. (Korea Standard Time) on Sept. 10.

On her Instagram account, Lisa also announced “my first single album release 2021.09.10 1pm,” which has garnered 4.2 million likes and more than 214,000 comments as of writing.

Following the announcement, the hashtag #SoloistLisa trended at No. 1 on Twitter as fans expressed excitement about Lisa’s upcoming solo music release.

Lisa will be the third member of BLACKPINK to release solo music after Jennie in 2018 and Rosé last March.

According to YG Entertainment, Lisa recently started shooting her music video. It added that when Lisa’s first teaser for her solo debut was uploaded, the hashtag “Lisa Solo Debut Coming Soon’ surpassed 3.3 billion views in a day on Weibo, the Chinese microblogging platform.

Currently, Lisa is the K-pop artist with the biggest number of followers on Instagram with 57.9 million and her YouTube channel Lilifilm has 8.04 million subscribers. Jennie has 50 million followers on Instagram while Rosé has 45.1 million and Jisoo has 45 million.

The announcement of Lisa’s solo debut came just as BLACKPINK celebrated their fifth anniversary since debut.

Their “BLACKPINK: The Movie” recently grossed $4.8 million and attracted 500,000 moviegoers worldwide to become the highest grossing event cinema of 2021, according to distributors CJ 4DPLEX and Trafalgar Releasing.
