When a contestant joins a singing competition or reality show on television, he aims to achieve fame and fortune (kasi ano pa ba ang pwedeng dahilan?!) But with the long list of aspirants, there will only be one winner. (sana di na lang contest kung wagi na lang lahat!) Unfortunately, not all winners make it big in the business. (minsan yung mga naligwak pa ang napansin!) Contests can be very unpredictable. (so bahala na ba si destiny?!)
The popular group, Little Mix composed of Jessy, Perrie, Jade and Leigh Anne, is a product of X-Factor UK. Each of them auditioned as soloists but didn’t make it. It was when they decided to form the group that made them win the competition. (baka need nyo pa member, I'm here!)
Jessy eventually left the gang but Little Mix continue to shine. This month, they are celebrating their 10th anniversary. (i-guest na yan sa ASAP! )
“"We can't believe it has been 10 years. Time has flown, and when you look back we have done so much that we're super proud of." Perrie says.
Sony Music recently announced that the group will be releasing a new album titled “Between Us” this November. This is in celebration of one decade of producing big hits. (pwede akong back-up singer o kahit dancer!)
"It's going to be great to have all our big hits as a band on one album for the first time, celebrating 10 massive years of Little Mix. The tracks also show how much we have grown as artists, from 'Wings' to 'Heartbreak Anthem'," Jade explains.
Last month saw Little Mix celebrating 100 weeks in the Official UK Singles Chart Top 10, the most for a girl band in history. All of those Top 10 hits are featured in the album, including their No.1 singles 'Wings', 'Black Magic', 'Shout Out To My Ex' and 'Sweet Melody', alongside major hits such as 'Touch', 'Move', 'Power', 'Salute' and their latest Top 3 smash 'Heartbreak Anthem'. (baka pwede maisama yung single ko!)
In the Philippines, their single: “Secret Love Song” has become a national anthem among music lovers. Many of our local singers have produced their versions of the song. (yung ayaw paawat ganyan!)
"We're also really excited to release five brand new Little Mix songs that we've been creating. We can’t wait for our fans to hear the new tracks we’ve been working on. We hope they love them as much as we do!" Leigh Anne shares.
The British group has established itself as the world’s biggest girl band. They have sold over 50 million records worldwide, collected over 19 million Spotify listeners, received over 3 billion YouTube views, and collated 12 billion streams worldwide. (spell hakot!)
Earlier this year the band hit No.1 in the UK with their smash hit single ‘Sweet Melody’, their 5th UK No.1 single. Their 6th album ‘Confetti’ has so far spawned four hit singles and had track sales of over 4 million. (dapat gawin kong kumare ang mga ito!)
They also won 'Best British Group' at the 2021 BRIT Awards, the first female group in history to ever win the award. (pati history gustong kalabanin!)
2022 will see the band finally hit the road with their highly anticipated Confetti Tour taking in arenas across the UK and Ireland. (ay kailangang sumabit ako dito!)
