91% of COVID-19 cases in Bulacan recover

The Provincial Health Office (PHO) reported Friday that 47,998 or 91% of the total confirmed COVID-19 cases in Bulacan have already recovered.

As of Friday afternoon, August 20, the PHO recorded a total of 52,783 COVID-19 cases in the province, 491 of them are “new cases” and 279 are “late cases”.

There are still 3,699 active cases in the province, 482 of them are confined in the hospitals, 138 are lodged in the Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facility (TTMF) while 3,079 are under home isolation.

The PHO recorded 21 new additional deaths, bringing the number of COVID-19-related mortality in the province to 1,086.

The health office urged the residents to register online for their vaccination against the dreaded disease.

"One person vaccinated against COVID-19 is a step closer to achieving herd immunity in the country," the PHO said.

Dr. Hjordis Marushka Celis, Bulacan Medical Center director, said that the online registration links for COVID-19 vaccination for priority groups A1 to A5 or frontliners, senior citizens, persons with co-morbidities, indigent population, and uniform personnel of all the cities and municipalities in the province are posted in their official Facebook account https://www.facebook.com/PHOBulacan.

Governor Daniel R. Fernando strongly encourages Bulakenyos to get vaccinated so as to protect not only themselves but also their families and those who are around them as well.
