Tropical Cyclone 'Isang' Tracker

Isang was upgraded to a severe tropical storm at around 2 a.m.

PAGASA said Isang now has maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 115 kph.

Even though it has intensified, the severe tropical storm remains unlikely to affect the country's weather until it leaves the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) Sunday noon or afternoon.

The center of Isang was estimated at 560 kilometers northeast of Itbayat, Batanes as of 4 a.m.

11 p.m, Aug. 21

The center of tropical storm Isang was estimated at 575 kilometers (km) east-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes.

It has maintained its maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 105 kph.

Although it is seen to intensify into a severe tropical storm in the next few hours, PAGASA said Isang is still not expected to directly affect the country until it leaves the Philippine area of responsibility on Sunday morning or afternoon.

5 p.m., Aug. 21

Tropical storm "Isang" (international name "Omais") continued to intensify but has no direct effect on the country's weather.

PAGASA said Isang was packing maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 105 kph.

As of 4 p.m., the center of Isang was estimated at 585 kilometers east-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes.

11 a.m., Aug. 21

The center of tropical storm Isang was estimated based on all available data at 605 kilometers east-northeast of Basco or Itbayat, Batanes.

It has maximum sustained winds of 75 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph.

5 a.m., Aug. 21

Tropical storm Isang has started to move north-northwest over the Philippine Sea east of extreme northern Luzon.

Its location was estimated at 790 kilometers (km) east-northeast of Calayan, Cagayan or 725 km east of Basco, Batanes at around 4 a.m.

The tropical storm is still not expected to have a direct effect on the country's weather until it leaves the PAR on Sunday, Aug. 22.

11 p.m., Aug. 20

Tropical cyclone "Isang" (international name "Omais") has intensified into a tropical storm while over the Philippine Sea.

PAGASA said that storm Isang has maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

Its location was estimated 835 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon as of 10 p.m.

5 p.m., Aug. 20

The center of tropical depression "Isang" was estimated 890 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon.

It has maintained its maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph while moving west-northwest at 15 kph.

Isang is still not expected to have a direct effect on the country until it leaves the Philippine area of responsibility on Sunday, Aug. 22.

11 a.m., Aug. 20

Tropical depression "Isang" slightly intensified but is still not seen to enhance the impact of the southwest monsoon or 'habagat."

As of 10 a.m., the center of Isang was located 975 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon.

It has maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph while moving west at 20 kph.

5 a.m., Aug. 20

PAGASA estimated the location of tropical depression "Isang" at 1,110 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon as of 4 a.m.

It has maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 55 kph while moving west-northwest at 20 kph.

However, it still has no direct effect on the country's weather.

11 p.m., Aug. 19

Tropical depression “Isang” is seen to unlikely affect weather conditions over the country’s landmass throughout the forecast period.

State weather bureau PAGASA estimated the center of the the tropical depression at 1,160 kilometers (km) east of northern Luzon as of 10 p.m.

It maintained its maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 55 kph, while moving northwestward at 25 kph.

5 p.m., Aug. 19

Tropical depression “Isang” has accelerated while maintaining its strength on Thursday afternoon, Aug. 19.

State weather bureau PAGASA estimated the center of Isang at 1,280 kilometers (km) east of Northern Luzon as of 4 p.m.

It still packed maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 55 kph, while moving west northwestward at 30 kph.

11 a.m., Aug. 19

The tropical depression east of Luzon has entered the Philippine area responsibility (PAR) on Thursday morning, Aug. 19, and was named “Isang”.

State weather bureau PAGASA said Isang entered country’s monitoring area at around 10 a.m.

“Isang is unlikely to directly affect the weather condition in the country throughout the forecast period,” PAGASA said.

“The latest forecast scenario for Isang shows that the hoisting of tropical cyclone wind signals over any land area in the country is unlikely,” it added.
