LUCENA CITY, Quezon – The province health office has reported that nine patients were infected by the Delta variant of the COVID-19.
The Department of Health confirmed this Friday, Aug. 13.
Integrated Provincial Health officer Dr. Grace Santiago said four of them are from Dolores, two from Sariaya, and one from Tiaong.
The University of the Philippines-Genome Center confirmed that they contacted the variant through samples sent to them.
They have already recovered.
Santiago added that the Sariaya patients were returning overseas Filipino workers, and the Tiaong patient is not a town resident.
These towns are now conducting contract tracing.
