While the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) surge seems to be relentless, the country’s vaccination rollout is also earnestly moving forward with about 12 million Filipinos already fully vaccinated, although this is just about 17 percent of the target population of 70 million for the country to achieve herd immunity.

And just when the country grapples with this pandemic, it is also finding hope in a new set of heroes – seven foreign-trained Filipino virologists who will be at the core of the soon-to-established Philippine Virology and Vaccine Institute.

The 50-percent capacity in passenger buses is being strictly enforced by the Inter-Agency Council for Traffic as this public utility bus (PUB) plying the Coastal Road route from Cavite to Manila was found to be in violation of by accommodating more passengers than it should on Thursday, August 12, 2021.
