Task force formed to find missing PDEA agent


The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said Thursday, Aug. 12, that a task force was organized to locate Investigation Agent I Merton T. Fesway who has been missing since June 25, 2021 and was believed to be abducted.

PDEA Director General Wilkins M Villanueva confirmed signing an “agency order creating “Task Force Fesway”- a 24-man intelligence and investigation team, to expedite the search for the missing anti-drug operative.’’

Based on the initial investigation, a PDEA statement said that Fesway was supposed to meet a confidential informant prior to his sudden disappearance.

“Hindi kami titigil sa paghahanap hanggang matagpuan namin si Fesway. Umaasa kami na siya ay ligtas at nasa mabuting kalagayan (We will not stop until we locate Fesway. We hope that he is safe and in good condition),” Villanueva said.

Fesway, a 38-year-old native of Samoki, Bontoc, Mountain Province, is assigned at the PDEA Regional Office III Pampanga Provincial Office in Angeles, Pampanga. (Chito A. Chavez)
