More than 900K COVID vaccine doses administered in Caloocan City


The local government of Caloocan City has administered a total of 938,503 doses of the vaccine against COVID-19.



Mayor Oca Malapitan said in a public briefing on Thursday that 596, 612 individuals have already received their first dose and 341, 891 have been fully vaccinated.



He also said that they are strictly following the “no walk-in” policy for all individuals except for senior citizens.



“Sa pagbabakuna ngayong ECQ ay mahigpit nating ipinatutupad ang ‘no walk-in’ policy sa lahat ng ating vaccination sites maliban na lang kung senior citizen na agad nating pinaprayoridad upang mabakunahan (During ECQ vaccination, we strictly enforce the “no walk-in” policy at all our vaccination sites except for senior citizens who are being prioritized for inoculation),” he said.



Malapitan said they already have a pre-listing system and online appointment to avoid the spread of the Delta variant.



He also said that they have opened more vaccination sites to administer more vaccines per day.



“Ngayong araw, meron po kaming 26 na strategic vaccination sites para sa first at second dose kabilang na dito ang malls, schools at mga barangay covered courts (Today, we have 26 strategic vaccination sites for the first and second doses including malls, schools and barangay covered courts),” he said.



“On a daily average mula sa 6,000 noong mga nakaraang buwan, sa ngayon ay umaabot na po sa 15,000 - 18,000 ang nababakunahan natin araw-araw (On a daily average of 6,000 in previous months, we vaccinate 15,000 - 18,000 everyday),” he added.
