Pisay students bag awards at Hong Kong Int’l Science, Computational Olympiads


Six students of the Philippine Science High School System (PSHS) have bagged awards at the Hong Kong International Science Olympiad (HKISO) 2020-2021 and at Hong Kong International Computational Olympiad (HKICO) 2020-2021 held in July.

The PSHS System congratulated students of its Zamboanga Peninsula Region Campus for winning at the HKISO, an international science competition held annually around the world.

The competition consists of four main categories: Physics, Biology, Chemistry & Integrated Science. It is open to all Grade 2 to Grade 10 students.

“The Philippine Science High School System congratulates the students and their mentors of the Philippine Science High School - Zamboanga Peninsula Region Campus for winning in the Hong Kong International Science Olympiad (HKISO) 2020-2021. We are proud of you!,” the PSHS wrote on Facebook on Aug. 9.

The awarding was held on July 25.

RC Rech Rimafranca (Secondary 3) received Gold Award, while Jared John Capriccio (Secondary 1) and Mark Edcil Mutya (Secondary 3) got Bronze Awards.

The PSHS also extended its feliciations to three other students of its Zamboanga Peninsula Region Campus for winning at the Hong Kong International Computational Olympiad (HKICO) 2020-2021.

HKICO is an annual computational Olympiad competition which consists of main programming languages nowadays such as Scratch, Blockly, Java, C++, and Python.

Martin Dion T. Dy (Secondary 2) bagged the Merit Award for the C++, category, while Gabrielle Pauleentan O. Tan (Secondary 2) and Jeruz Pauline C. Rosendo (Secondary 2) got the same award for the Python category.
