“I am delighted to share that the number of personnel who are participating in this initiative throughout the country is continuously growing,” Education Secretary Leonor Briones said in a statement.

DepEd launched its mobile application vaccination tracker in July to provide a safer avenue for teaching and non-teaching personnel to share information and status of their vaccination against COVID-19.

Called the “DepEd Mobile App,” the mobile application was developed by the department in support of the National Deployment and Vaccination Plan (NDVP). “It is important for us to know the number of vaccinated DepEd employees in creating health and safety policies moving forward,” Briones said.

Based on the latest daily status, DepEd-Region IV-A has the most number of respondents with 29, 143 teaching and 2,102 non-teaching personnel who reported their vaccination status through the mobile app.

In the National Capital Region (NCR), there were 19,064 (teachers) and 1, 227 (non-teaching staff) and in Region III, there were 17, 380 (teachers) and 1, 353 (non-teaching staff) who reported their vaccination status via the mobile app.

DepEd NCR has the most number of personnel who received their first and second doses at 14,988 followed by Region IV-A with 9, 568 and Region III with 6,037.

Of the total number of vaccinated employees, 44, 094 received Sinovac CoronaVac; 17, 607 received Janssen and 14, 865 received Oxford AstraZeneca.

Meanwhile, Undersecretary for Administration and DepEd Task Force COVID-19 (DTFC) Chair Alain Del Pascua said that “vaccinated or not, all DepEd personnel are enjoined to report their vaccination status by downloading the DepEd Mobile App in Google Play or App Store and answering the questions therein.”

In an OUA Memorandum, DepEd encouraged field offices to promote the use of the DepEd Mobile App to serve as an easier way of reporting the vaccination status of personnel from the education sector.

The said application, which can be downloaded from the App Store (for iOS users) and Google Play Store (for Android users), will be vital in creating policies and addressing existing issues concerning the vaccination program of the national government.

To validate the data generated through the tracker, DepEd field offices were also instructed to provide a monthly report to the DTFC on their vaccination data.

DepEd has over 900,000 teaching and non-teaching personnel to date.
