Cinemalaya’s Cinema Under the Stars rescheduled to Sept. 2-4

Cinemalaya’s Cinema Under the Stars will push through, even after its original schedule was affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) imposed on Metro Manila to prevent the spread of COVID-19’s Delta variant.

According to the Cultural Center of the Philippines, the original schedule of August 14 will be moved to September 2-4.

The Cinema Under the Stars is a hybrid drive in theater where cinema goers can watch movies from inside the comfort of their vehicles, or set up their picnic blankets under the stars for a unique cinema experience at the Liwasang Ulalim.

Among those that will be shown are the two sets of short films in competition, as well as Mae Paner’s full length exhibition piece entitled “Tao Po”.

“We will attempt to have a live physical screening with one or two films initially, where the public can gather, picnic-style," Cinemalaya festival director Cris Millado said in a previous press conference.

Tickets are available through ktx.ph and can also be availed of bundled with food and drinks with an extra charge. Cinemalaya 2021 runs from August 6-September 5.
