P7M illegal drugs seized in Central Visayas ops


CEBU CITY – Illegal drugs worth P7 million were seized in a region-wide, simultaneous anti-criminality operation in Central Visayas.

During the 24-hour Synchronized Enhanced Managing Police Operations (SEMPO), which started at 12:01 a.m. on August 7 and ended at 12:01 a.m. August 8, a total of 124 police operations were conducted that led to the arrest of 152 drug suspects.

The Police Regional Office Central VIsayas (PRO 7) said seized were 1,039.40 grams of shabu with an estimated value of P7,071,28 and 525 grams of marijuana worth P63,000.

The PRO 7 added 98 anti-illegal gambling operations were conducted that resulted to the arrest of 224 persons and confiscation of P17,467.

At least 200 firearms and once explosive were seized in the 180 operations against loose firearms.

Police were also able to arrest 182 wanted persons

“We congratulate our men for this high accomplishment rate in this SEMPO. This is in line with the directive of Chief PNP to get rid the communities of all form of criminalities,” said Police Brig. Ronnie Montejo, chief of PRO 7.
