Pasay City residents to get food packs, other aids during ECQ

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said they will start distributing food packs and other forms of assistance to the city residents starting Sunday (August 8).

Rubiano said the distribution of food packs and other forms of assistance is an initiative of the city government while waiting for the release of the P356 million financial aid from the national government.

The mayor said that prior to the declaration of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in Metro Manila, she had coordinated with the city council and to the office of congressman to allot funds that will be used to help the city residents during the lockdown.

Rubiano said the food packs will be given to every household in all barangays.

She said the city government will conduct a house-to-house distribution of food packs to the residents.

The mayor added they will immediately distribute the cash aid to their residents once the allotted P356-million fund is downloaded to the city government.

Based on the guidelines issued by the national government, each individual will receive P1,000 or a maximum of P4,000 cash for every household.

“Alam naman po nating hindi sapat ang halagang iyon kaya nagpasya kami sa ating city government na bigyan ng ayuda sa abot ng ating makakaya ang ating mga mamamayan, (We all know the cash aid is not enough so the city government decided to give additional help to our city residents),” Rubiano said.
