In her post on Facebook, Antipolo City Mayor Andrea Bautista Ynares announced that the city government will no longer allow residents with no confirmed schedule of inoculation, in all of the city’s vaccination sites.

Ynares explained that the city government’s policy is in line with the national government’s order about priority list and scheduling in vaccination.

The city government disallowed walk-ins starting on August 6, Friday, following last Thursday’s overcrowding at SM City Masinag.

Security personnel of the mall, policemen and soldiers had to assist the local government in controlling the more than 2,000 residents who flocked to SM City Masinag for vaccination.

The office of Mayor Ynares is urging those who joined the crowd at SM City Masinag to have themselves swab tested for COVID 19 for free at the Rizal Province Mega Swabbing Facility at the Ynares Event Center in Antipolo. Those who would like to schedule a swab testing should book online through this link:

Vaniza Pachoco, SM City Masinag’s public relations manager, told Manila Bulletin that Thursday morning’s overcrowding incident was the first one that happened at the mall. Mall security personnel assisted city hall staff in crowd control.

Ynares said the first few months of the vaccination roll-out went on smoothly even if the city government allowed walk-ins.

There are 7,581 residents who are scheduled to get the jab today based on the list released by the city government.

The city and the rest of the province are under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) from August 6 to 15.
