Rubiano issued the order when she visited the checkpoints set up at the city borders in line with the enforcement of Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) from August 6 to 20.

“Ako po minso ay nag-iikot para matiyak na nasusunod ang mga panuntunan na itinakda ng IATF kaugnay sa pagpapatupad n gating ECQ,” (I personally go around the city to ensure that the guidelines being imposed by the IATF under ECQ is being followed), Rubiano said.

The mayor, who was escorted by city police chief Col. Cesar Paday-os, noted that they have arrested some individuals who were trying to pretend as APOR using fake documents.

Rubiano said some were arrested for refusing to comply with basic health protocols such as wearing face masks and observing proper social distancing.

She said those apprehended were issued citation tickets and fined P1,000 for the first offense.

The mayor said the penalties of violators will gradually increase based on the numbers of their violations.

Rubiano is appealing to residents for their full cooperation in observing the IATF guidelines, the curfew hour, and the basic health protocols.
