PAGASA: Expect rain showers over parts of Luzon; 'fair' weather in Metro Manila, rest of PH in the coming week

(PAGASA)

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Friday, Aug. 6, said the southwest monsoon or "habagat" and a potential weather disturbance may bring rain showers and thunderstorms over most of northern and central Luzon next week.

In its weekly weather outlook, PAGASA said scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may prevail over Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Batanes, Babuyan group of islands, Abra, Benguet, Zambales, and Bataan until Tuesday, Aug. 10.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country can expect generally fair weather conditions except for isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

PAGASA said a potential weather disturbance over the Philippine Sea east of Mindanao may enter the Philippine area of responsibility this weekend.

However, the likelihood of this system developing into a tropical cyclone remains low.

By Wednesday until Friday, Aug. 11 to 13, PAGASA said the weather disturbance may bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Kalinga, Ifugao, Mountain Province, Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Bulacan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Zambales, Bataan, Aurora, and Nueva Ecija.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have generally fair weather conditions except for isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, mostly in the afternoon or evening.
