Valenzuela City gov’t to extend operation hours of vaccination sites


Valenzuela City Mayor Rex Gatchalian said on Thursday that they are planning to extend the operating hours of their vaccination sites.



“Ngayon three ‘yan of the 14 (vaccination sites) na nag-ooperate till 10 p.m. Ang gagawin namin i-e-extend namin ‘yung hours nung iba rin also till 10 p.m. (Now three of the 14 (vaccination sites) are operating till 10 p.m. We will extend the hours in other sites also till 10 p.m.),” Mayor Gatchalian said at the Laging Handa press briefing.



“Mas marami pa tayong ma-accommodate.Sisiguraduhin natin na kung anong bakuna ang ibinibigay sa atin ay mauubos natin agad sa madaling panahon (We can accommodate more. We will make sure that the vaccines given to us will be used as soon as possible),” he added.



The city mayor said they are continuously vaccinating bedridden residents and senior citizens who cannot go to the vaccination sites.



“In fact, sa talaan namin, we have around 600-700 of those cases and we’re already halfway through (In fact, in our record we have around 600-700 of those cases and we’re already halfway through),” he said.



“Hindi naman namin ititigil ‘yan, as long as may supply kami tuloy-tuloy kami diyan (We will not stop that as long as we have supply and we will continue the vaccination),” he added.



As of Wednesday, August 4, the city government has fully vaccinated a total of 153,131 individuals and administered the first dose to 226,113 individuals.
