PLDT Home Fibr routed BaliPure, 25-17, 25-15, 25-19, to post its second win in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference on Thursday, August 5 at the PVC Socio-Civic & Cultural Center in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte.

The Power Hitters needed only 75 minutes in toppling the Water Defenders to improve their win-loss tally to 2-6 with one match left in the preliminaries.

Though already out of the semifinal race, PLDT still displayed firepower in dominating BaliPure with Jorelle Singh stepping up in the offensive lane.

Singh poured all her 16 points on attacks and teamed up with Aiko Urdas in combining for 22 of the Power Hitters’ 42 kills.

Urdas came off the bench and finished with seven points along with Toni Rose Basas and Isa Molde, who combined for 13 points.

Veteran setter Rhea Dimaculangan also guided the PLDT spikers and converted 23 excellent sets, while also joining forces with Alyssa Eroa in taking care of their floor defense by managing a combined 40 digs.

PLDT Coach Roger Gorayeb said winning their last matches would boost the confidence of his stalwarts in future tournaments.

“Kailangan talaga namin itong panalo para bumalik yung confidence nila. Saka maganda para isang bagong form na team yung nagpapanalo kami ng ganito,” Gorayeb said.

“Maganda yung nilaro. Masaya ako.”

BaliPure fell to 2-6 when it takes on its last opponent, Perlas on Saturday. PLDT, for its part, battles Cignal on Friday with hopes of ending its campaign on a high note.
