Muntinlupa police gear up for ECQ implementation

The Muntinlupa police are preparing for the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Metro Manila starting at midnight, August 6.

The government has placed the entire National Capital Region (NCR) under ECQ from Aug. 6 to 20 due to the rising number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases and the threat of the highly contagious Delta variant. Curfew hours in the NCR during ECQ are from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.

According to Muntinlupa police chief Police Col. Melecio Buslig, barricade and traffic cones will be placed at the Muntinlupa-San Pedro, Laguna boundary quarantine control point (QCP).

In a Facebook post, Philippine National Police chief Guillermo Eleazar said Authorized Persons Outside their Residences (APORs) can be driven to and from their place of work by non-APORs.

They only need to show the certificate of employment of the APOR worker with the following details: name of designated non-APOR driver/fetcher, make and plate number of vehicle to be used and contact number of employer; and a copy of business permit of the employer.

For people who will get vaccinated, they need to show to authorities the text message coming from the Muntinlupa City COVID-19 Vaccination Program (MunCoVac) to prove that they have a schedule for the day. The Muntinlupa City government had earlier said vaccination will continue under ECQ.

Tricycles are only allowed to carry one passenger and back rides are prohibited. Jeepneys and buses will be allowed to carry passengers up to 50 percent of their capacity.

There will also be checkpoints at the Sucat, Muntinlupa-Taguig boundary, Alabang-Zapote Road and Biazon Road in Brgy. Poblacion. Random inspections will be done at checkpoints placed along the National Road in Muntinlupa.

Only one person per household is allowed to buy essential goods like food and medicine. Emergency cases will be allowed to pass. A liquor ban will be in effect in Muntinlupa during ECQ.
