Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso confirmed that he will be joining Aksyong Demokratiko party.
In an interview with DZRH, Domagoso said the report on his postponed oath-taking as a member of the political party on Thursday, August 5, was true.
“Di muna namin tinuloy, saka na ’yon. We’ll focus muna here (We didn’t push through with that, we can do it later on),” the mayor said.
“I’m grateful to Aksyong Demokratiko kasi nung nag-usap ‘yung partido namin, ‘yung Asenso Manileno, at ‘yung partido ng Aksyong Demokratiko mukhang bagay ‘yung direksyon namin (when our parties talked, the Asenso Manileño and Aksyong Demokratiko, it seems like we are on the same direction),” he added.
Domagaoos said both parties are focused on addressing the people’s basic needs.
Early Thursday, it was confirmed that Domagoso resigned as member and vice chairman for political affairs of the National Unity Party.
When asked why he left the party, the mayor said: “May mga napabalita na baka sumama sila kung kanino man, eh kami naman ay iba ang pananaw namin sa Asenso Manileno (There are rumors that they will be joining hands with some people, and we at the Asenso Manileno have a different view).”
Domagososo said he wants his local party members to be free to choose who they want to support.
