Thyro Alfaro pulls off pandemic-themed proposal

Love blooms even during a pandemic.

Awit-Award winning music artist Thyro Alfaro proposed to his partner yesterday.

In a Facebook post, the singer wrote: “I tested POSITIVE,” Before laying the punchline: “Positive to be with Arci Dela Peña for good.”

obviously, the singer-songwriter who wrote "Trianggulo," a song that won the 2015 Philpop competition grand prize, didn’t let the ongoing pandemic get in the way of him proposing to his now fiancée.

In fact, he spun the thing into his proposal gimmick.

Thyro sprung his surprise with a little pandemic-themed play-acting.

As seen on the video he posted on his Facebook account, Thyro, in cahoots with a few friends, one even wearing a hazmat suit, pretended to contact-trace the unsuspecting Dela Peña.

The distraction was enough that Thyro was able to get on one knee and pull out the ring as a flustered Dela Peña finally realized that it was all a set-up.

The singer-songwriter also soundtracked the video he posted in the best way that he knows how--by highlighting it with a new song tailored for the occasion.

The new song titled “Ginto” is an unreleased track that Thyro has been saving for this particular occasion.

“Yehey, soundtrip-in natin tong song kong “GINTO” sayang air time. Para sa kanya naman tong song,” Thyro wrote at the end of the video. He also added, “nasa #bagonbuhayalbum (sic) ito. Lapit na!”

Said track and album is an upcoming project that Thyro is putting the finishing touches on.

Thyro Alfaro has a daughter with Dela Peña named Aria.

Ah, love in the time of Covid-19.

Congratulations!
